Carpool Procedures @ PRE

  Greetings Explorer Parents!

Please read below for a few carpool procedures that, when followed, will help to make for a smooth and safe transition into school for our young Explorers. Following these procedures will also work to get you in and out of the line in a jiffy!😎

In order to ensure that carpool drop-off and dismissal run as smoothly as possible, please read and adhere to the procedures listed below.  Many families will be new to these procedures and they, along with the entire PRE faculty and staff, would greatly appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we refine the process of accepting and dismissing students.

In order to receive and dismiss all students in a safe and orderly manner, we ask that you familiarize yourself with the following carpool procedures.

  • New this year: Our student pick-up number system! This system is much more efficient, confidential and safe for all. We are working out the kinks and will have it running like a well oiled machine soon.
  • Every child needs hugs, kisses, or high-5s to start the school day.  Please take care of this before arriving in the drop-off zone each day.
  • Students may only begin exiting cars at 7:30 am each morning when school employees come outside to greet and assist students.
  • Only the right lane is for drop-off and pick-up.  Merge into this lane as soon as you get to the yellow island and white sign.
  • Remain in the right lane until you are at the front of the school and allow your child to enter and exit the car from the passenger side only. Look for the blue "pull up to here" sign, pull up there if you're at the front of the line.
  • If you use the safety lock feature on your car, please remember to disable this feature when dropping off or picking up your student.
  • Remember to clearly display your child's car rider sign in the window of your vehicle during dismissal.  This helps our staff know that the person in the vehicle is authorized to pick up the student and it helps to expedite the pick-up process.
  • When a car does not have an official school sign, the driver will need to park and come into the front office (with ID) to obtain a sign, and then circle back into the carpool line.
  • ALL students must be picked up by 3:00 PM. Late pickups will require you to walk in with a mask, sign your child out.  Unapproved late pickup result in a fee being assessed.
