Lost and Found

We do have a few items in our lost and found.  Please encourage your child to stop by and check it out prior to the last day of school.  All unclaimed items will be donated.

Student Medications

All student medications must be picked up by 12:00pm on the last day of school, June 6.  The nurse is not allowed to return to students any medications, so parents should make arrangements to stop by the health room prior to noon on next Thursday.  Schools are also not allowed to store prescriptions over the summer, so all medications not picked up will be disposed of properly.  If you have any questions, please feel free to call the school and ask for Mrs. Salcedo, the school nurse.

Quarterly Recognition Ceremony

Please join us for our final Quarterly Recognition Ceremony.  Students will be recognized one last time this school year on Tuesday, June 4.  The times for all grade levels are listed below.

2020-2021 School Calendar

In an effort to allow families additional time for planning vacations and other family activities, Richland Two will begin selecting its school day calendars two years in advance. In our recent faculty and parent advisory meetings, we have discussed several different schedule options for the 2020-2021 school year.  Thanks to the input and feedback from those two advisory councils, we have narrowed the list to two options.  It is now your turn to weigh in on the options.  Keep in mind, the calendar for the 2019-2020 school year has already been voted upon and approved.  You can access it at the link above.

This information was sent to parents via email along with a link to vote for the calendar of your choosing.  If you do not have email access, but would like to vote for the 2020-2021 calendar, please feel free to stop by any Richland Two school to cast your vote.  Schools will also have available for your viewing copies of the two calendar choices.  All votes must be submitted by Friday, May 24.

State Testing

Students in grades 3-5 will be taking
their state tests (SC Ready & PASS) beginning next week.  The testing schedule is listed below.  Please reassure your child that he already has the knowledge necessary to be successful on these tests.  That work and learning took place throughout the school year.  There are however some things that parents can do to increase the likelihood of student success.  Those things include making sure students get a good night's rest each night, eat a healthy (but not too filling or sugary) breakfast, are present in school, arrive to school well before the 8:10am tardy bell rings, and understand that the only expectation is that all students put forth their personal best.

Tuesday, May 14th - SC Ready ELA
Wednesday, May 15th - SC Ready Writing
Thursday, May 16th - SC Ready Mathematics
Tuesday, May 21st - PASS Science & Social Studies

Expedition Book Club

The very last Expedition Book Club for this school year will be hosted May 17th, and there is still time for you to participate!   If interested, please download the book club form so that your child can attend the last celebration of the year.
