Arts Day Color Run

Our art teacher, Mrs. Floyd-Francis and music teacher, Mr. Batenhorst are gearing up for another fun Arts Day at Polo Road.  This day is intended to provide all students with opportunities to further explore art and music.  As a part of Arts Day this year, students will be participating in a Color Run.  However, all students need permission to participate.  Permission slips were sent home this week and must be returned no later than March 16, 2020 in order for students to participate.

Principal & AP Get Silly Stringed

Check out some of the photos below showing just how much fun the students had when given the opportunity to silly string Dr. Bosier (principal) and Ms. Jennings (AP).  This was one of the incentives students could receive by donating to the Pennies for Patients fundraiser. Go to Polo Road's Facebook page if you would like to see a brief video of this festive event.

Pennies for Patients

Polo Road has accepted the challenge of helping to find a cure for blood cancer! We are joining over 25,000 schools across the nation to make a difference and raise as much money as we can! Over the next couple weeks our Jr. Beta Club and the entire school will be working to help raise money.

A Pennies for Patients letter was provided to take home to parents with instructions for setting up an individual online giving page. Families can create the page and start saving lives. When students create an online fundraising page and start raising money online, they become eligible to receive awesome Hero Gear! Join the Polo Road squad and let’s work together to battle cancer! https://events.lls.org/pages/sc/Polo-Road-Elementary-School-2020

District Holiday

All Richland Two schools and offices will be closed Monday, February 17, 2020, in honor of Presidents' Day.  We look forward to seeing all Explorers back at school safe and sound on Tuesday, February 18.  Enjoy the extended weekend!

Mrs. Self-Control

Please join us in congratulating Mrs. Courtney Smith for being chosen as the staff member demonstrating an overwhelming abundance of Self-Control throughout the month of January.  Mrs. Smith is one of our kindergarten Dual Language Immersion teachers and she was recently nominated and elected as Mrs. Self-Control!  Mrs. Smith sets a great example for the students with whom she works and her colleagues and we are so proud of her!  Way to go, Mrs. Smith!

Valentine's Day Reminders

Valentine's Day is almost upon us. Although this is an exciting time for most, please keep in mind that this is a regular school day of quality teaching and learning at PRE. As a result, there is no time designated for class parties or celebrations in honor of this holiday. Please refrain from sending cupcakes, ice cream, cookies or any other related items for your child's class.Teachers will, however, be happy to allow students to pass out treat bags and/or trade cards at the very end of the day. If you choose to prepare treat bags or Valentine's Day cards, be sure to include ALL students in your child's class or the treats/cards will be returned to you.
In order to maintain a structured school day with minimal distractions, please be aware  that the Administration or Front office personnel will not deliver gifts to students, including balloons, flowers, teddy bears, etc, on Valentine's Day, February 14th. Please do not bring or have these items delivered to school for your child.
